Household Item
An item I like the design of is my snowboard. The profile of different boards are specific to different riding styles or terrains. This board has a camber-rocker profile meaning the nose and tail of the board are raised but not quite as much as a snowboard made for riding in deep snow which would raise the nose a lot more. This shape also means that underneath the riders feet this board has camber, meaning the board curves upwards creating space between the bottom and the ground when no weight is on the board.
This drawing visualises that shape:
The curve under the riders feet allows for more pop when going into turns and when doing jumps. As well as the shape the board is light and flexible which again makes it pop more and also helps enter turns quicker and easier. I like this design because it creates a fun, fluid riding experience and makes jumps easier and higher.
